September 2013 Empties

Happy Monday, everyone! Well, it's happy for me because hubby and I both have today and tomorrow off.. which means we finally get to see each other for more than just an hour in passing since we've started working opposite shifts again.

Today I have my monthly empties from September to share with you, and I actually did a really good job of keeping everything together this time! However, the hubby did manage to throw the package to the Blue Agave paper face mask from my Ipsy bag away before I was able to add it to my pile, but I'll forgive him this time.

Going counter clockwise from the top of the collage...

REDKEN Curvaceous Full Swirl -- This is a gel/cream twist that does wonders for my curls. I don't think it necessarily gives them more definition, but it does help stop them from turning into a crunchy or frizzy mess. Well worth the $20 price tag, even though I go through the stuff faster than water.

AUSSIE Sprunch Hair Spray -- My favorite hair spray for curly days! It's actually meant to wear in hair that is scrunched, so it provides just the right amount of hold without leaving your hair crunchy. Sensing a theme here? I have a serious hatred for crunchy curls! I can only find this at WalMart these days, so I usually buy a couple of cans at a time.

REVLON Color Silk Hair Dye | #20 Brown Black (2 boxes) -- Again, I only kept one box but ended up using 2. I used to use this dye all the time back in college! It's ridiculously cheap (less than $4/box regular price) and probably horrible for your hair. However, when I was looking for a cheap fiz to cover those resilient blonde highlights in my hair and to take the red out from the Garnier Olia dye that I used last month, I knew this was going to be my best option. Brown black is very dark, but it does still read as brown. I'm glad to have gone back to the dark side. It's perfect for fall, and my hair actually still feels really soft even after all the torture I've submitted it to!

NYC Loose Powder | 742A Naturally Beige -- This is absolutely my favorite drugstore powder. Since I was never outside this summer to get a little color, it's been slightly dark for me, so I ended up mixing some of the NYC Translucent Loose Powder in with it to lighten the color a little bit.

COVERGIRL Clean Oil Control Foundation | 510 Classic Ivory -- I know this one technically isn't "empty," but I went to use it after having it in my makeup bag for a while and it smells a little off. Plus I couldn't tell you how long I've had it. Rather than take a chance, I just pulled a new bottle out of my stash.

MAYBELLINE Cover Stick Concealer | Ivory -- My favorite drugstore concealer of all time. For years, I kept trying other concealers and I have always come back to this one. It does everything I need it to do, lasts all day, doesn't crease under my eyes, and matches my skin perfectly.

MILANI Shadow Eyez Champagne Toast -- I love this pencil for a quick, neutral base when I'm running out the door or am feeling too lazy to really do eye shadow. Champagne Toast adds just enough of a neutral shimmer to make you look more done up than not wearing any eye makeup at all, and it literally takes less than 30 seconds to apply and blend out! Love! Check out my swatch of it and some other Shadow Eyez pencils here.

MAYBELLINE Mega Plush Volum' Express Mascara -- I remember being hesitant to try this when it came out, but also being sucked in by the "gel mousse formula" gimmick. I'm SO glad I tried it because I love it! It's definitely one of my favorite drugstore mascaras and I use it as a 2nd/layering mascara to really give my lashes extra "oomph!"

COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion Mascara -- This is a drugstore mascara that I truly love. The brush is fantastic, and it's great for getting both top and bottom lashes. I usually put this on first to separate and define my lashes, then follow it with the Maybelline Mega Plush to finish off the look.

PERFECTLY POSH Sugar Fix Scrub -- I received this to review about a year ago and I'm just now finishing it up. I've rotated it out with different scrubs as time has gone on, but I do really love the consistency and smell of Sugar Fix. You can read my full review of it here.

SONOMA SPA Bubble Bath | Ocean Spa -- I've been a "bath girl" for as long as I can remember. I take a bubble bath almost every night, and when you go through that much bubble bath, you start looking for affordable options. I tried this brand from WalMart a couple years back and have been using it ever since. You get a lot of bubble bath for practically nothing (that entire jug is less than $3!), they have several scents that all smell awesome, and it makes a great amount of bubbles that actually last!

ELF Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths -- Love these! They're my all-time favorites, and you can't beat the $3 price tag! I use them both morning and night, but usually not both morning and night in the same day because I do like to actually wash my face once every day. Here was my original review of them.

ELF Lip Exfoliator -- By far the best one I believe that you can buy for $3. It smells and tastes good, and does the job it's supposed to do. My lips always look and feel amazing after I use this!

CREST 3D White Toothpaste | Radiant Mint -- Now, I did have help emptying this one since hubby and I share toothpaste. We like the Crest 3D White because it helps keep our teeth white longer and it's still got flouride and fights against cavities!

GILETTE Venus & Olay Exfoliating Shaving Cartridge | Sugarberry -- This is a newer addition to the Venus & Olay family, and I can't really tell that it does much exfoliating, but the scent is okay. I don't think I'd go out of my way to specifically pick these up again, but I do love the Venus & Olay razors!

Holy empty products, Batman! About halfway through this, I was starting to get concerned that I would be discussing these until November!

Do you see any of your favorites in last month's empties? If so, leave me a comment and let me know which one(s)! :)
