FRIDAY FAVORITES -- ELF Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths & Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment

Hey everyone! Happy Friday! It's been a LONG time since I've done a Friday Favorite segment, and there's really no other reason than the fact that I've just been feeling uninspired. Besides testing products for reviews, I really haven't strayed outside of my usual products lately.. and if I'm going to review a product, I don't generally like to spoil the surprise with featuring it on a "Friday Favorite", and once I've blogged about a product once, I really don't see the point in featuring it again in what I see as then turning in to a "filler post" so, I've just let the Friday Favorite segment slide for a while.

Side note: Do any other bloggers analyze/over-analyze things like that? I feel like sometimes I overanalyze things to the point of making myself crazy and making the situation way more complicated than it should be.. :\

Anyways, today I have two products that are new-ish to me that I originally had no plans of reviewing, but I like them so much that they can truly be considered "Friday Favorites" ...Let's see what they are!

First up is the ELF Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths. These come in a resealable pack with a snap closure. You get 20 pre-moistened wipes per pack, and they retail for $3. I picked them up at Target. At first, I was kind of on the fence about them. They're VERY thin, and they don't seem like they're that damp, but they really do remove all of my face makeup with one wipe (and I wear a LOT), and they leave behind a nice residue. I know, I know. "Nice" and "residue" don't usually go together, but it's not greasy or sticky at all.. It's kind of moisturizing, and it doesn't seem to make my already oily skin oilier. I feel like they cleanse and moisturize my face in one step, which is awesome when it means I can get in bed that much faster at night!

Next up is the Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment. I have chronically dry lips anyways, but this winter has been ESPECIALLY rough on them. For well over a week, my lips were so dry that it was practically unbearable. They burned, the skin was so tight that it felt like it pulled every time I moved my lips, and I had huge ugly patches of dry skin on my lips that would not come off, no matter what I did or how many lip exfoliating scrubs I used.

I saw the Blistex at WalMart, and thought I might as well give it a try. I can't remember the exact retail price, but I'm positive that it was under $2. And if we're being honest, I only picked it because it was cheaper than the Aquaphor, Vaseline, and Neosporin varieties.

I love that it has a slanted applicator tip, as you can see below. It's easy to squeeze the product out, and it covers your lips well.. although it does tend to leave a bit of a white tinge to them at times (the product is opaque and white). The first night, I slathered the stuff on my lips and they felt so much better when I woke up the next morning. I was able to finally get all of the dry skin off of my lips in the shower with a warm, wet washcloth, and my lips felt very moisturized and hydrated! No burning or skin stretching! I've been keeping this with me and applying it 2-3x a day since, and my lips have been in much better shape. In fact, I can definitely tell if it's time for me to apply it again, as I can feel my lips start to tighten and dry back out. One application of the Blistex puts them right back to normal!

Well, that does it for this installment of my Friday Favorites! Have you ever used either of the products listed? If so, what do you think of them? :)
