Hey everyone! Sorry I've been a little MIA lately, life has been.. well, a bit overwhelming to say the least. Thankfully this week is super slow at work (although my paycheck isn't loving that idea).. and I'm taking advantage of this as the proverbial "calm before the storm" of holiday retail.. Yuck.
Anyways, with the weather getting progressively colder and drier, I noticed that I've already been breaking out my favorite products to fight dry skin and I figured I'd share them with you in case you're looking to try something new this year!
ORGANIX Dry Body Oil
Retails for $7.99, available at Ulta and Ulta.com
Organix's Dry Body Oil blends Moroccan Argan Oil with sugar cane, willow bark, rice milk, and bamboo extract to restore moisture and elasticity to your skin and make it touchably soft. I squeeze a drizzle of this in every bubble bath I take and my skin feels SO good when I get done. I also use it on my legs after I shave, and it absorbs into my skin very quickly! Plus it smells absolutely divine. I know not everyone is a fan of dry oil, but I highly suggest this one if you're looking to try an inexpensive one.
ULTA Moisture-Intense Body Butter
Retails for $9, available only at Ulta and Ulta.com
For a nice, thick lotion.. I absolutely adore Ulta's body butters. They blend shea butter with almond oil and other ingredients specific to each scent. I've got 4 different scents (Passionberry Vanilla, Mandarin Mint, Vanilla Sugar, and Precious Poppy), and they just moisturize so well. I usually apply these to my legs and hands at night (my lower legs get dry and itchy SUPER fast, so I have to give them lots of moisturizing love) and they stop any itching almost immediately. Plus they leave my hands and cuticles in great condition, especially after a marathon swatching session! If I had to pick just one, I'd say that Passionberry Vanilla is my all-time favorite scent.
GOLD BOND Ultimate Healing Lotion
Retails for $5.99-7.99, available at drug stores and other retailers nationwide.
If your hands are already cracked open or you're averse to fragrance, I have an equally amazing lotion option for you as well! Gold Bond's Ultimate Healing Lotion is perfect for healing severely dry and damaged skin. My husband uses this during the winter since he works in the medical field (and with animals, no less) and he ends up washing his hands at least 15-20 times in a 9 hours shift. He swears by it and has turned all of his coworkers onto it as well. Best part? He attests that it will hold up through at least 3-4 hand washes so he's not having to reapply it every time he turns around (which, coincidentally is about how frequently he washes his hands). It's non-greasy and absorbs quickly, yet leaves a moisturizing barrier behind to protect and heal even the most dry, cracked open, bleeding hands.. which he has definitely had.
TRUE BLUE SPA Mini Paraffin Hand Lotion
Retails for $6 at Bath & Body Works and bathandbodyworks.com
I recently picked this little guy up as a freebie from B&BW. They had a coupon for a free $6 True Blue Spa item, which meant a mini.. and I figured I could always use a purse-size lotion heading into winter. I didn't realize just how awesome this would be! True Blue's Paraffin Hand Lotion has paraffin, olive, avocado, and apricot oils, along with vitamin E to help soften and soothe your hands quickly. Plus, the light green citrus scent is a huge plus. It smells very clean and light, and I'm sure I'll be going back to get at least another mini for my work purse, if not a full-size tube!
