REVIEW -- Perfectly Posh The Stripper Detox Body Mud

Hey everyone! Happy Tuesday! Man.. This whole past week I've been wondering why I haven't been able to get ANYTHING done.. Finally took me a week, but I figured it out! Hubby and I used to stay up til 3-4 am because he worked overnights and I usually worked 2nd/3rd shifts.. but we've both been working 1st shift since the beginning of August and have been going to bed at like 11pm. Those late nights were when I did most of my blogging. No wonder I feel so behind! I've been losing like 28-35 hours a week! :X

Thankfully I think I have a new blogging schedule that should help alleviate things in the coming weeks. Please bear with me while I try to get myself back on track!

Anyways, if you remember last week.. I shared my review of Perfectly Posh's Sugar Fix Scrub (Check it out! There's a giveaway going on until 08/28/2012 at 11:59 PM EST!!) Aimee was kind enough to send me some samples to share with friends and they happened to include The Stripper, which I was SUPER anxious to try.. so I might have kept one for myself. But hey, now you get to learn about another Posh Product! I figured it was kind of a fair trade. :)

Perfectly Posh's The Stripper Detox Body Mud comes in an 8 oz tub and retails for $22. It uses mud and clay to pull free radicals from your skin to ensure that you get a "pure clean". Once you smooth the creamy, vanilla scented mud all over it will help expel harmful pollution and leave behind youthful, healthy skin.

This sample is 3 grams and I was able to get 2 complete face masks out of it, which I thought was pretty cool because it really doesn't look like much product at all.

The mud itself smells very nice and rich.. like vanilla mixed with honey, maybe? Even though it says "Body Mud", I immediately wanted to put it on my face.. because well, I pretty much want to slather everything on my face.. and it was supposed to detoxify my skin. Clear and perfect face? Um, yes please!

I washed my face in the shower, dabbed it dry with a wash cloth and put The Stripper on. I usually leave my masques on while I shower and shave, then rinse them off last. But then my face started burning. And you know, that's fine. I can take a little burn.. but then it started REALLY burning. I mean like holding my face over a bonfire burning. It burned so bad I almost thought I was going to have to stop my shower and wash it of.. but I didn't. And man am I glad that I stuck it out!

Once the burning stopped and I rinsed my face, I was left with the smoothest, softest, most even complexion that I've had in a LONG time. And this is coming from the girl who exfoliates her face twice a day. My skin looked AMAZING. The next day I was able to get away with wearing absolutely no face makeup except for a little bit of concealer under my eyes. No foundation, no tinted moisturizer, and no powder! My skin was THAT flawless!

A few days later, I used the second half of my sample and it burned.. but not nearly as bad. Again, my skin looked and felt amazing. I've also had less acne since using The Stripper, and Aimee says that her daughter does use it to control acne.

If you have very sensitive skin on your face, or you don't like the sensation of "tingle" tanning bed lotions, The Stripper might not be for you. The first application is definitely intense, but I think that the burning might diminish with consistent use? Don't quote me on that.. that's just my hypothesis. I actually kind of like the burn, though. It lets me know that The Stripper is working!

At any rate, I truly cannot wait to purchase my very own Stripper Scrub. I've been dreaming about slathering my face with it again.. only because my skin looks and feels so fantastic afterwards! In my weaker moments, I have even contemplating hoarding the other Stripper samples that Aimee gave me to tide me over until I buy mine, but I don't think that would be very fair to my friends.. so I've been good and left them alone. But ohhhhh it's hard!

Bottom line? This stuff is like miracle mud. I'm a woman obsessed! I would give it 8 out of 5 stars if I could.. but I can't, so 5 out of 5 will just have to do!
RATING: 5 out of 5 STARS

If you have time, please remember to check out Aimee's Perfectly Posh site! She has been so generous to me and my readers and I would LOVE to see us show her some support in return!

  1. This sounds both terrifying and awesome. BURNING SKIN WUUUTT???!! But awesome skin??? Yes!

  2. My guess would be it burned because you exfoliate your face a lot so that leaves your pores more open. Also, using it in the shower may have been an issue with all the steam. Kind of like using IcyHot in a steamy shower. IDK though, just a guess.

  3. Yes I just recently won a raffle with a whole bunch of perfectly posh stuff in it and I looooove the exfoliater I have the mud D-Tox on my face now and it did burn a bit but it also feels good if that makes any sense it's like a tingle but i'm pretty sure that's because it is a strong D-tox and thats how you know it's working! But I love it
