NOTD -- Milani Sail Away + Essie Stroke of Brilliance

Hey everyone! First, let me update you on the Perfectly Posh contest.. Aimee and I will be collaborating this weekend to verify entries and pick a winner. I expect to have one selected by early next week, so stay tuned!

Now onto the nails! Today I was browsing my blog roll and came across this post from my fellow MABB member Harri of TrailerHood Chic. She did some really cute (and simple!) nail art featuring Milani's Sail Away and I was instantly like "OMG I HAVE TO HAVE THAT COLOR ON MY NAILS NOW." Thankfully, I own Sail Away due to my dear friend Steph over at Imperfectly Painted. She keeps me well stocked on all of my Milani lemmings since Atlanta is notoriously horrible at keeping anything Milani stocked... anywhere.

I used one (!) coat of Milani Sail Away, which is a denim/navy polish with a very strong silver shimmer and then topped it with two coats of Essie's Stroke of Brilliance, which is composed of various sizes of navy glitter in a clear base. I received Stroke of Brilliance for free as a Klout perk. :)

I didn't expect the glitters in Stroke of Brilliance to perfectly match the color of Sail Away, but it's kind of awesome that it did! The polishes really blend together seamlessly and my nails look SO sparkly in person. I literally cannot stop staring at them! I topped my look off with a coat of Zoya's Armor and followed that up with a coat of Revlon's Color Stay top coat. I've found that those two top coats together give me a gel-like feel and finish on my manis and I can easily get 7+ days of wear out of them.. if I don't get bored with my polish first, that is!
