Hey everyone! Happy Friday! I'm sorry that I don't have a 'Friday Favorite' for you, but there was just nothing this week that I felt "wowed" me enough to be featured. Instead, I have this awesome NOTD for you, so I figured you would forgive me. :)
This mani was inspired by Kellie Gonzo's Teal Marshmallow Sandwich look from about a week and a half ago. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to recreate it at some point.. so what better time than right now?! In her original mani, Kellie used Essie's Marshmallow and Milani Teal. Since I don't have Marshmallow, I decided to switch things up and use Orly Dayglow and OPI Don't Touch My Tutu.. along with Milani Teal, of course.
This is my first jelly sandwich and I love it! Hubby says it reminds him of a jawbreaker, and I totally agree. I used 2 coats of Orly Dayglow, 1 coat of Milani Teal and then 3 coats of OPI Don't Touch my Tutu.
Milani Teal is actually a fantastic glitter polish. It has very fine teal glitter, along with larger teal, green, and silver hex glitters suspended in a clear base. What you're seeing is one coat! The glitter is actually very easy to spread around the nail, but I did have to go back in on a few nails and fill in bald spots.
I also like that OPI's DTMT is much more sheer than Essie's Marshmallow, so the glitter shines through more. One coat of Seche Vite sealed everything down and my nails are so shiny and smooth. A girl actually asked me if I was wearing the Sally Hansen nail strips because my nails looked "so perfect.." SCORE!
