QUICK TIP -- How to Save a Smudged Mani!

Hey everyone! Sorry that today's post is a quick one, but I feel like I'm running in approximately 900 different directions today. Blech.

Anyways, have you ever just finished painting your nails only to nick or smudge one? Yea, me too.. And it makes me all like:

Totally attractive, I know. BUT... Now I have a solution for you!

Lick one of your (hopefully clean) fingers and gently smooth out the smudge or nick in your polish. Somehow, the compounds in your saliva work with the nail polish so that you can soften and blend the surface without having to start over! There's no need to apply more polish, and your mani will be good as new!

I've been meaning to share this tip with y'all for a while, and I always forget about it.. until I just smudged my nail in the middle of a painting session. But you'd never know it now!

Hope you're having a great day!

  1. I always do this when I smudge my nails but I have a pierced tongue so I just end up smudging it MORE!

  4. A few days ago Essies-FB page asked for tips on  what to do when you smudge your nail, and I was surprised on how many said that they where licking the nail. eww eww..

I usually doesnt notice the smudge until the polish is all dry, sadly. should pay more attention.

  5. I don't lick the actual nail, I lick a finger tip and use that to work out the smudge. I don't think licking half-wet nail polish is a really great idea, lol!
