|From L-R: Captivating, Charming, Nostalgic, Flirtatious, Sociable and Fearless|
Hey everyone! Today I have e.l.f.'s 6 new lipsticks to share with you! These are part of the e.l.f. essentials line and are only $1! I believe they are only available on their website at this time. Y'all know my love of practically all e.l.f. products.. so read on to see what I think of the newest additions!

CAPTIVATING is an orange-y tan that I wasn't initially drawn to at all.. It's not a color that I would pick for myself, and I thought it would look awful on me. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't look nearly as bad as I expected. Unfortunately, the picture you see above is the only time it will grace my lips. While trying to apply it, the whole thing broke off and fell into my bathroom sink. Behold the remnants:
A huge chunk got taken out of it, it's obviously broken.. and it's been in my bathroom sink, so I promptly threw it in the trash. At least I was able to get a picture of it for you, I suppose?
CHARMING is a gorgeous berry/mauve color. It's very natural and gives your lips a pretty "just kissed" flush. It looks lovely with very simple makeup, or as a neutral lip with dramatic eyes. I really like it and know it will become a staple in my makeup bag.
NOSTALGIC... Omg. Nostalgic. Oh, holy grail of lipsticks.. How I've searched high and low for you! It's my perfect nude lipstick.. and it's A DOLLAR. #PraiseJesus #Hallelujer Y'all don't understand. I actually squealed with joy when I put this on and saw the results. It looks almost identical to NARS Turkish Delight (Kim Kardashian's favorite lip gloss).. without the $24 price tag! Obviously, this is my favorite out of the six.. and I'm going to resist the temptation to order 6 of them online right this second.
FLIRTATIOUS was certainly aptly named. It's a pretty pink that's a little more bubblegum-hued than I would go for daily wear right now, but I think it will be great in the spring and early summer. It's a blue-toned pink, so it will be flattering on most skin tones and will also make your teeth look whiter! Score! I look forward to getting a lot of use out of this one.
SOCIABLE is a bright blue-toned pinky-red. Application was gritty, which surprised me. It felt like I was scraping fine grit sandpaper across my lips. It wasn't until I removed the lipstick that I realized there's glitter in it! Who knew?!
Even though I'm a fan of bright lipstick.. this baby is BRIGHT. I'm wearing a more dramatic eye makeup and swatching this with it made me look absolutely crazy when I saw myself in the mirror. I think Sociable is gorgeous, but it definitely needs to be the focus of your entire face when you wear it!
FEARLESS is another aptly named shade. If you thought Sociable was bright.. you haven't seen anything until you've worn Fearless. And I wear some pretty bright shades of red.. But this is perfectly and truly red. It looks like something Taylor Swift would wear. (Fearless.. Taylor Swift.. Get it?!)
Unfortunately, application is truly unforgiving. I didn't use a lip brush to apply this one then tried to go back with a tiny brush and concealer and do some clean up... It's a decision I regretted it instantly. But I knew better than to take it all off and start all over. This baby stains something fierce, which is great when you're wearing it. Your lip color will last all day. It's NOT so great, however, when you're swatching. You pretty much get one shot at it.
FINAL VERDICT & RATING
Overall, I really like the new lipsticks. I've tried some of their other lip products (which I'll be reviewing soon!), but this is my first experience with e.l.f.'s lipsticks.
They're SUPER shiny.. which I love! And they are true to their color, aren't drying and last a long time.. but they're kind of difficult to apply. They tug and pull on your lips, and I'm afraid they're going to break in half like Captivating did.
Other than that, though.. I think they're a great value for a dollar! The pigmentation and wear of them makes up for the application, so I'm giving them 4 out of 5 stars!
RATING: 4.0 out of 5 STARS
