REVIEW -- Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes

Hey everyone! I'm back with a review for you. I'll be reviewing both the morning and evening scents of the Pond's Wet Cleansing Towlettes. They are widely available in stores and online and retail between $4-5 for 30 cloths.

The cloths are dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive skin, safe for contact lens wearers and are supposed to remove waterproof mascara.

MORNING REFRESH
Morning Refresh uses citrus and cucumber to exhilarate your senses and help wake you up in the morning. The cloths are textured with "invigorating beads" that "gently polish away dullness, leaving skin clean, fresh, and glowing." However, I wouldn't really call them "beads." The cloth has a slight texture, but it's nothing really special and I don't feel like it exfoliates my face at all.

The smell is a strong citrus one, but it's more of a Lysol smell than something I'd want around my face. And I don't smell any hint of cucumber. It's not completely off-putting, but I find it definitely reminds me more of a cleaner than a beauty product.

EVENING SOOTHE
Evening Soothe uses the fragrances of chamomile and white tea to relax your sense as you remove the makeup and impurities from the day. These cloths are textured but do not have the "invigorating beads" that Morning Refresh does.

The scent is light, but not overly sweet or floral. It's got an almost creamy richness to it that I find very appealing... and is definitely perfect for night time. It's like the perfect balance of refreshing and calming.. I know those are oxymorons, but if you've smelled these you know exactly what I mean!

FINAL VERDICT & RATING
While I like these cloths and they claim that you don't need to rinse your face after using them, sometimes I still feel like my face has a residue on it and I rinse anyways. I'm not a huge fan of that sensation. They are a decent size and I have more than enough room on them to get all the makeup from my face and neck off easily. However, I can't substantiate whether or not they remove waterproof mascara because I still use my Sonia Kashuk eye makeup remover to take off all of my eye makeup.

However, I will say that as a contact lens wearer, these don't irritate or burn my eyes at all.. so I imagine they would be fine for people with sensitive eyes or skin.

I definitely prefer the Evening Soothe scent over the Morning Refresh. And I also strongly feel like the "invigorating beads" add nothing to the experience of the Morning Refresh cloths, which is why I didn't even bother taking a picture of them for this review.

The convenience of these cloths is fantastic. Sometimes I don't want to be bothered with having to wash my face at night and these definitely make it a lot more convenient to remove my makeup. And lastly, the price point is great.. you can get 30 of them (an entire month) for under $5 and they are widely available so it's convenient to find them.

Due to not loving the scent of Morning Refresh, the lackluster "invigorating beads" and the residue they leave on my face, I give them a 4.0 out of 5 stars. I definitely see myself repurchasing the Evening Soothe cloths again, though.
RATING 4.0 out of 5 STARS

Have you ever tried either of the Pond's Towelettes? A lot of people got a mini pack of the Evening Soothe ones in their latest Target Beauty Bag. If you've used them, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

  2. I agree.. they are very wet but I've had a problem with other towelettes drying out halfway through the package (and they're never the same if you have to add water back into them) so I don't mind that.

I'm sorry they burn your eyes! Like I said, I don't use them to actually remove my eye makeup but I have gotten them around my eyes and not had a problem. I'm sure it's something to do with all the perfume in them. :\

    Thanks for your comment! ♥

  3. I got the evening ones as a free sample from Target and I totally fell in love. The smell is great, the texture helps a lot and I love that my face doesn't feel super greasy.

  4. I know! I love the smell so much and I feel like they actually do kind of help control the oil on my face, which is a nice plus. Thanks for mentioning that.. I forgot to include it in my review.

Also.. I just sent you an email. ♥

  5.  I got a sample in my Target beauty bag, and I agree that the evening sooth does leave a residue. It foams up very thick but I like that it takes everything off. Sometimes when I am super tired I just use one of these to clean my face and go to sleep. :)

  6. Yup! I think I still prefer it to the citrus one, though.. Even though I've gotten used to the citrus smell, it still does kind of have a chemical-y essence to it. Yuck. :\

Btw.. Hope you're doing well! ♥
