REVIEW -- Organix LIGHT Moroccan Argan Oil

Hey everyone! Today I have a review of Organix's Light Moroccan Argan Oil for you! For my new readers, it's important that you know how damaged my hair is. I'll let you listen to me explain how I caused my hair to literally disintegrate back in March... it's definitely a cautionary tale if you like to change your hair frequently.

So, needless to say, I've been doing everything I can to baby and pamper my hair since then. For a while, I'd been using the It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Conditioner and Alterna Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil Mist. Unfortunately, I ran out of the Alterna and decided that even though I love it.. I would try something else that's less expensive. Here's how the Organix worked for me:

Organix Moroccan Argan Oil comes in 3 different "varieties".. Light (fine & brittle hair), Normal, and Extra Strength (dry or coarse hair). It comes in a 3.3 fl oz bottle and retails for $7.99. Argan oil contains vitamin E and antioxidants and is supposed to renew you hair's cell structure while sealing in shine and increasing softness.

Application is exactly what you'd expect it to be: apply a small amount to your palms and rub your hands together before working through towel-dried, damp hair working it through to the ends.

The first thing I noticed was that the way the product gets  dispensed is through a hold in the top of the bottle.. which makes it hard to control how much oil comes out. And it's very easy to have too much come out at once.

The oil smells really nice and would actually make a great fragrance. Very calming, yet feminine and kind of sensual. Unfortunately, it isn't noticeable in your hair once you've finished blow-drying.

Lastly, I only apply the product to the bottom third of my hair.. but it doesn't make my oily hair any oilier or weigh it down.

As much as I'd like to say I love the Organix Light Moroccan Argan Oil, I just don't. I don't think it's a bad product.. I think I was just spoiled by my Alterna spray. It was so much easier to apply, and I feel like it benefited my hair more. I can't say that I've seen a difference in my hair since I started using Organix, and I've had it for just over a month.

However, I have used it on my body after I get out of the shower and I really like it for that. Like I said, the smell is amazing and it reacts well with my body chemistry.. plus it absorbs almost instantly and isn't oily!

I always love trying to find alternate uses for products I'm not crazy about. So because I've found a new use for the Organix Light Argan Oil, I give it a rating of 3.5 our of 5 stars.
RATING 3.5 out of 5 STARS

  1. Thanks for reviewing this! I've been eyeing this for a while now, and I think I might just give it a shot. I think I'll buy it at CVS, since they allow returns on beauty products, just in case!

  2. Let me know how you like it!

And FYI.. since this seems to be a huge misconception.. Ulta will let you return anything within 60 days as long as you have your receipt! Granted, my store requires that it be at least 3/4-1/2 full.. but that's because people would try to return empty products to us and say that it "didn't work" so we had to draw a line somewhere. I don't know if other stores have that same stipulation, though. :D

  3. The oil has the capacity to help in eliminating scars from the skin
including stretch marks, a common problem of women. It nourishes the
skin and allows broken tissues and cells to be repaired and renewed.
Thus, it paves the way for the appearance of a new skin that is similar
to that of the original skin of the individual.
