Exciting News and My First Franken!

Hey everyone! I decided to do another quick entry today to share some exciting news with you AND to show you my first franken polish!

For those of you who don't know what a 'franken polish' is.. It's a custom-made polish that you create by combining any number of already existing polishes, glitters or pigments. They can be super cool, and the sky is the limit as far as creativity goes! It's possible to create a dupe of an already existing polish, or create a similar version that's more to your liking.. or to come up with something entirely new and original!

First up.. let's talk about the franken. I've seen countless versions of the "navy blue jelly with holo glitter" idea.. but it's just SO gorgeous that I had to make one for myself! I used Pure Ice's 'All Night Long' and Wet N Wild's 'Kaleidoscope' although I made this back in July so the proportions escape me. I want to say it was almost the whole bottle of Kaleidoscope and maybe half or 3/4 a bottle of All Night Long.

I'm really pleased with the way it turned out! 2 coats is all it took to achieve the look of the picture. Now that I've made my first one... I'm dying to see what else I can create! I might order some empty polish bottles off of ebay and go crazy!

And now.. on to the exciting news: I FINALLY GOT A JOB! I don't really know if I want to say where it is just yet because I'm still figuring out how separate I want to keep my job and my blog.. but I can tell you that it's definitely beauty-related and I'm SO humbled and excited! I've loved this company for over a decade now and I'm incredibly happy to be a part of a company and industry that I love and believe in so much!

PS - Chris promised me he'd buy me Hanson tickets if I got this job.. so another bonus: I'M GOING TO SEE HANSON IN OCTOBERRRR!!! AHHH!!!

So yea! I'm pretty sure that this is officially it for the day. I'll be back tomorrow with a 'Friday Favorite' for you! Have a great night!

♥ M

  1. Pretty color!You got a job lucky you I want a job too!!

  2. Thanks, dear! It's SUCH a relief! I haven't had a steady job since I quit the one I had in January. I'm not used to not working.. it was so hard!

    I hope you find one, soon! ♥

  3. Congrats on the job lady and your polish is AWESOME. Wow, look how talented you are....ha

  4. It reminds me of the newer colored blue orchids they have out now. Nice color. can you do a blue black night time sky?

  5. Congratulation on the job. You will do great in a beauty business!

  6. @Christina -- Thanks, love! I can't believe it took me this long to finally wear it! ♥

    @Anon -- Hmm.. I haven't seen those orchids, but now you've gotten me curious! You know, this polish actually kind of reminds me of the night sky.. You can't tell but the holo glitter is suspended in the blue jelly base and it looks like stars. I think it would be totally achievable to get a "night sky" look by adding a little black to this color combo! ♥

    @Anon -- Thank you so much! I hope you're right! ♥
