NAIL ART -- Barbie Inspired Half-Moon Mani

Hey everyone! Today I have a super girly tutorial for you that I'm SO in love with. I've been lusting over half-moon manis for a while now and finally decided to give one a try. Chris picked out my color combination and I have to say it looks amazing! If Barbie did her nails.. I think they'd look like this!

  • Pure Ice -- Love
  • Pure Ice -- Pink Ice
  • Zoya -- Ali
  • Sinful Colors -- Forget Now
  • Hole Reinforcements
  • L.A. Colors Art Deco Striper -- Silver Glitter
  • 1mm Clear Rhinestones
  • Dotting Tool
  • NYC Quick Dry Top Coat

  1. I painted my nails one coat of Love, followed by one coat of Pink Ice.
    • These coats don't have to be even because you'll be covering up 3/4 of your nail with the other colors.
  2. After applying a layer of quick dry top coat, I took the hole reinforcements and stuck them on my hand first to remove some of the excess stickiness, then placed them on the top third of my nails.
  3. Then I painted 1 coat of Ali on my nails and immediately removed the stickers.
  4. I gave my nails a minute to dry, flipped the stickers around and layered a coat of Forget Now over Ali and then removed the stickers again.
  5. Then I used the Silver Glitter striper to line the edge of the half-moon.
  6. On my ring fingers, I applied a layer of top coat and used my dotting tool to apply 1 mm clear rhinestones instead of the silver striper.
  7. I finished with a layer of top coat.

And that's it! Quick and easy nail art that's super trendy for fall. Have you tried half-moon manis yet? If not, do you plan to?

DIY -- How to Prepare for a Big Event

Hey everyone! First, I'd like to be honest and tell you that I might be posting a little less now that I've started my job. This week is especially hectic because I have such a random schedule so that I can train in as many areas of the store and see as many different parts of the day (opening, closing, etc) as possible. Second, I was reviewing the company's social media policy and it says to be upfront and honest about your position and affiliation with them. I have a feeling I'll be telling you where I'm working soon, I just want to clear it with my GM first to make absolutely sure I don't break company policy. I'm sure you can all understand!

Anyways, today's post comes to you compliments of my dear friend BreAnn, who asked me to write a step-by-step guide for preparing for a big event because she couldn't find any online that fit her needs. She said she wanted something pretty involved and I've decided to write this based on what I would do for myself if I was getting ready for an event. As always, you can adjust these steps to fit your needs!

  • Start using white strips 2x a day. Switch to a whitening toothpaste (if you aren't already using one) and drink any dark liquids through a straw.
    • You can read my full DIY Teeth Whitening Guide here.
  • If you have any problematic acne, apply either Clean & Clear's Acne Spot Treatment or Persa-Gel 10 up to 2x a day.
  • Exfoliate head to toe and begin applying a gradual tanning lotion before bed. I like Ocean Potion's EverGlow.
    • Read my 3-part Foolproof Self-Tanning Guide here
      • However, if you're going to use Ocean Potion, you can skip using gloves if you thoroughly wash your hands and pat them dry immediately after finishing.
  • Repeat all steps from Day 5, minus the exfoliation.
  • Choose your outfit and accessories.
    • If you've bought a new outfit or shoes, test-wear it around your house. Make sure you can comfortably (and confidently!) walk in your shoes and that you can sit and bend over in your outfit without fear of a wardrobe malfunction.
      • If you need to add any insoles to your shoes, do this now.

  • Repeat all steps from Day 5, including the exfoliation.
  • If you needed to add insoles to your shoes, give them another test-wear today to make sure they are comfortable.
  • If you are going to try a new hairstyle or makeup look that you're not used to doing, go ahead and test those out now to see how well you can execute them and if you'll need extra practice at them and how long each look will take you to complete.
  • Repeat all steps from Day 5, minus the exfoliation.
  • If your hair and makeup prep didn't go as smoothly as you wanted yesterday, use this as another chance for practice or as a chance to try out another look if you weren't totally in love with the first one.
  • Repeat all steps from Day 5, including the exfoliation.
  • Again, use this as a last chance hair and makeup trial if necessary.
  • Go ahead and take care of your mani/pedi now so that you won't be rushed trying to get it done tomorrow (less chance for accidental smudges or dents!)
  • Also take care of any waxing/tweezing/hair removal issues you need (besides shaving).
  • Repeat all steps from Day 5, minus the exfoliation.
  • 15 minutes before you start getting ready, apply a coat of a quick dry top coat (I like NYC's version) to ensure that you won't get any accidental chips in your mani.
  • Pop your white strips in, then shower, shave and wash your hair.
  • When 30 minutes is up, take your white strips out and brush your teeth.
  • Dry your hair and loosely pile it up on your head.
  • Apply your tanning lotion and let it dry for at least 15-20 minutes before attempting to do hair/makeup or getting dressed.
  • Do your hair and makeup.
  • Get dressed, pack your purse/clutch with any vital accessories you'll need and head out the door looking and feeling supermodel ready!
- - - - - * - - - - -

Alternatively, you could start your Day 5 prep 7 (or even 10) days out.. just remember to exfoliate every other day.

And that's it! I hope this helps to serve as a great guideline for you. It's amazing how much a little pre-planning can alleviate stress and mishaps!

REVIEW -- Philosophy Purity Facial Cleanser

I received a trial size Purity cleanser in my July Birchbox and I didn't start using it until after I'd filmed my video sharing the box with you. By now, I'm sure y'all know how much I love trying any facial product.. so I was dying to give this a try! After a month of use, I'm finally ready to give you a full review!

Philosophy's Purity Cleanser has gotten rave reviews from just about any person or publication that has reviewed it, so I was anxious to see what all the fuss is about. It's available at Ulta (in-store and online), at and a slew of other retailers. The 16 oz bottle retails for $20 and a 3 oz travel size will set you back $10. It also comes in cleansing cloths, a foaming cleanser and a mineral oil-free facial cleansing oil.

Purity is a 4-in-1 facial cleanser that is supposed to remove both face and eye makeup, and gently cleanse and tone the skin while lightly hydrating it... all in one quick and easy step. It's designed to quickly and easily dissolve dirt, oil and makeup along with sub-surface debris and leaves the skin feeling soft, purified and comfortably balanced. It can be used on all skin types and is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. Sounds like a miracle, right?

The first time I used Purity, I was amazed at how soft and clean my skin felt. Only a nickel-sized amount of cleanser is enough to completely remove all of my face makeup and nastiness that has accumulated on my face throughout the day. Granted, I always used my Sonia Kashuk makeup remover to remove my eye makeup, but I've never had a problem with any residue left on my face after I use Purity. I like to use Purity followed up by St. Ives' Apricot scrub for a deep-cleansing facial that leaves my skin so smooth and refreshed.

It's a pale yellow liquid that's slightly runny, and it barely foams. At first, I wasn't super thrilled about that because I like my cleansers foamy. For some reason, my mind thinks that it's not doing its' job if there's no bubbles.. but I assure you this works just fine. The scent is very light and pleasant.. Chris and I both pegged it as "herbal" and it smells similar to Black Cat's Tattoo Aftercare Salve if you've ever smelled that product.

But the best news of all: A little goes a LONG way. My 1 oz travel size is still half full and I've been using it for over a month. Oh, and I've used Purity every single time I've washed my face (day and night) since I opened it.

The only thing I can say I don't love is that it does absolutely nothing for acne.. not that it's supposed to, but I really wish it did. My face has been breaking out like crazy for the past week and a half and I've struggled with switching back to a cleanser for acne until it clears up, but I just love the way Purity makes my skin feel.

While I really do love Purity and plan on purchasing a 16 oz bottle for myself, it won't officially reach Holy Grail status just because I'm still going to need to keep an acne cleanser on hand for when I break out. However, for day-to-day use, Purity is absolutely amazing. I love that it's a one-step product which is so convenient for when you're exhausted and totally dread the thought of having to do 10 different steps to your face before bed.

I'll also be keeping my 1 oz trial bottle to refill for whenever we go on trips or vacations.. because like I said, it's lasted me over a month. So that will be super convenient as far as packing goes!

Therefore, I give Purity 4.5 out of 5 stars!
RATING 4.5 out of 5 STARS

I hope you've had a great weekend! If you've tried Philosophy's Purity Cleanser, please let me know your thoughts! As always, I love to hear them!

3 Things I'm Loving Right Now! -- Vol. 1

Hey everyone! I'm totally taking advantage of what's probably my last "lazy Saturday" now that I'm back to being employed.. and as I was sitting here enjoying my freedom and laziness, I decided to start a quick theme: 3 Things I'm Loving Right Now.

First up: TruTV. I've loved all of the World's Dumbest shows for years.. the commentary panel is generally hilarious and they totally make the show. But I've recently gotten into Hardcore Pawn and the other random "actuality" shows TruTV offers. Besides, there's nothing better than watching a marathon of "World's Most Shocking" videos late at night or on Saturday. (Which is totally what I'm doing right now.)

Next: Blue polish. Specifically ChG 'Dorothy Who?'.. I've never hated blue polishes, but I've never been a huge fan either. I generally tend to gravitate towards pinks and reds. Shocking, I know.. But since I've taken my acrylics off, I've been drawn to nothing but blue polishes and I don't understand it. I take one off to put another on.. and I think I've worn Dorothy Who? at least 4-5 times in the last 3 weeks. I think it also helps that the dense glitter in DW? helps disguise the huge ridges in my nails from where they were filed for the acrylics.
Last: Ramen! Have you ever noticed how delicious it is when you eat it out of choice rather than necessity? Personally, I prefer chicken or beef but I'm not too picky. It's the perfect super quick and easy lunch or snack.. and it's even more delish if you add some lunch meat, shrimp, or chicken strips to it. And for the record, I definitely just finished a bowl of chicken ramen. :)

- - - - - * - - - - -

And that's it.. Three things I'm loving at the moment! I tag anyone who wants to do this.. and you don't have to do random things. If you'd rather keep it in line with the genre of your blog (all polish, all makeup, etc), that's totally perfect too!

Also.. I'm not sure if I will have a Beauty Spam Sunday up for you tomorrow. I know, I know.. but our camera is acting really weird and I don't know if it will be fixed in time. I'll do my best, though!

FRIDAY FAVORITES -- Lauren Conrad's Braid

Happy Friday, everyone! Today's Friday Favorite is a hair tutorial that's so simple.. even I can do it! It's Lauren Conrad's famous side braid. Now, I'll be honest and say that I never watched The OC or Laguna Beach or The Hills.. or.. whatever shows she was on.. but I do think she's pretty and I do like the braid.

I was inspired to give this a try since I'm letting my bangs grow out and they're at that horribly awkward stage where the longest part is past my chin and the shortest part ends around my mouth.. they're MUCH too long to pass off as "bangs" anymore and instead resemble a section of my hair that a drunken toddler attacked with scissors. Once I realized that, I started looking up ideas to disguise them until they've completely grown out and I came across Blair Fowler's (JuicyStar07) tutorial for this braid.

See?! Look how easy that is! I love it. Also.. I love watching baby Blair! She's changed SO much and I kind of miss how she was when she was back home in Tennessee.. but enough reminiscing.. I'm sure you're interested to see how well I pull off the look! Here it is:

Even if you're not a LC fan, this braid is super boho and adorable for tons of different occasions and looks! Give it a try!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Exciting News and My First Franken!

Hey everyone! I decided to do another quick entry today to share some exciting news with you AND to show you my first franken polish!

For those of you who don't know what a 'franken polish' is.. It's a custom-made polish that you create by combining any number of already existing polishes, glitters or pigments. They can be super cool, and the sky is the limit as far as creativity goes! It's possible to create a dupe of an already existing polish, or create a similar version that's more to your liking.. or to come up with something entirely new and original!

First up.. let's talk about the franken. I've seen countless versions of the "navy blue jelly with holo glitter" idea.. but it's just SO gorgeous that I had to make one for myself! I used Pure Ice's 'All Night Long' and Wet N Wild's 'Kaleidoscope' although I made this back in July so the proportions escape me. I want to say it was almost the whole bottle of Kaleidoscope and maybe half or 3/4 a bottle of All Night Long.

I'm really pleased with the way it turned out! 2 coats is all it took to achieve the look of the picture. Now that I've made my first one... I'm dying to see what else I can create! I might order some empty polish bottles off of ebay and go crazy!

And now.. on to the exciting news: I FINALLY GOT A JOB! I don't really know if I want to say where it is just yet because I'm still figuring out how separate I want to keep my job and my blog.. but I can tell you that it's definitely beauty-related and I'm SO humbled and excited! I've loved this company for over a decade now and I'm incredibly happy to be a part of a company and industry that I love and believe in so much!

PS - Chris promised me he'd buy me Hanson tickets if I got this job.. so another bonus: I'M GOING TO SEE HANSON IN OCTOBERRRR!!! AHHH!!!

So yea! I'm pretty sure that this is officially it for the day. I'll be back tomorrow with a 'Friday Favorite' for you! Have a great night!

REVIEW -- Wet N Wild Lip Gloss Extravangaza! (PART 2)

Hey y'all! Today I have the second part of my mega Wet N Wild gloss review! Again, this will be a lengthy post and I apologize for that.

Also, don't forget that I have set aside other lip glosses that I'm not counting here for my 6 MONTH BLOGIVERSARY GIVEAWAY that launches on September 11th!

From L-R: 310A This Too Shall Glass, 311A Glass Confusion, 314A Mow the Glass, 312A Glass is in Session
I received 4 out of the 6 Glassy Glosses. The other 2 colors are a clear and a warm reddish hot pink. These are touted as "Lip Gels" and retail for $2.99 wherever Wet N Wild products are sold. These glosses come in standard squeeze tubes and have a thinner consistency than the glosses I reviewed yesterday, but I wouldn't consider them to be runny. They have a very light, sweet cherry fragrance that isn't noticeable once you're wearing the product. And as with the other glosses, these are non-sticky and non-drying and I can get about 4-6 hours of wear out of them.

I love that these are compact and easy to take on-the-go. They're great for makeup bags, purses, backpacks, or clutches. Here's the in-depth look at each color:

310A This Too Shall Glass -- A true baby pink shimmer with buildable color that gives off a fantastic shine. I have worn this alone and over a pink lip stain to deepen the color and it looks fabulous both ways. I like that it has a noticeable color, but is also light enough to be a great "almost nude" gloss in case you're looking for something more subtle.

311A Glass Confusion -- A shimmery lilac gloss that looks amazing layered under the WnW Diamond Brilliance Baby's Got Bling. I like wearing this with purple or pink eyeshadow, as the shadow will really play up either the purple or pink pigment in the gloss. It also looks really great over a pink lip stain. This is easily one of the most versatile glosses I own!

314A Mow the Glass -- A sheer coral gloss that really does make me think of "gel". Generally speaking, I don't turn to sheer glosses very often, but if I'm wearing very minimal makeup, it's truly the perfect juicy-looking gloss. It's also great to layer over anything from lip liner to lipstick to get a more color-rich shine.

312A Glass is in Session -- By far my favorite gloss! A bright pink shimmery gloss that Chris perfectly described as "Pepto Bismol pink". I wear this either over a pink lip stain or under another gloss that I'll talk about in a second. It's a very flattering shade of pink that has just enough of a blue tint to help your teeth look whiter.

I like these glosses and think they're a great quality for the price. I mean, $2.99 for a tube of gloss? How can you pass that up! The colors are gorgeous and the formula is light-weight, non-drying, long-lasting and not sticky. I know I'm definitely going to pick up another Glass is in Season and I'll probably grab the other color that I don't have as well. If I had to pick one thing I'm not absolutely in love with, it would be the scent. It's just a little too sweet for my liking, but as I said.. it's not noticeable at all once the gloss is on your lips. Therefore, I give these a perfect score of 5 out of 5 stars!

From L-R: 593 Crushed Grapes, 562B Cherry Glaze, 564A Cherish, 577A Red Sensation, 576A Rose Gold,  561A Crystal Clear
**NOTE -- 'Crushed Grapes' is actually a MegaBrilliance gloss, but it is the same price point.**

I received 6 out of the 14 MegaSlicks glosses. They retail for $1.99 a piece and are available wherever Wet N Wild products are sold. These glosses come in medium-sized thin tubes, but still have a lot of product for their price. These all have doe foot applicators. Overall, the glosses aren't sticky but do have varying consistencies. Crushed Grapes, Cherry Glaze and Crystal Clear are sheer and slick while Cherish, Red Sensation and Rose Gold are opaque and slightly creamy.

The only thing I had a problem with was getting the tubes open! I started by trying to completely remove the labels, but that left some glue behind and left the caps sticky. Then I figured out that it was much easier to just twist the caps open and break the sticker.

I'm starting to feel like a bit of a broken record, but these aren't sticky, aren't drying and last for a decent amount of time (2-4 hours). They're also easily portable and are perfectly pocket-sized. Here's a breakdown of the colors:

593 Crushed Grapes -- A sheer hot pink gloss that applies virtually clear with very visible multi-colored glitter flecks. I have only worn this over Glass is in Session and it makes such a gorgeous combo. Granted, I know that not everyone likes the look of visible glitter in their gloss.. and I don't like it all the time myself, but it's great for when you really want to put some extra sparkle and attention on your lips! The best part about this gloss is definitely the smell though. It smells just like super yummy grape candy! I love it!

562B Cherry Glaze -- A sheer, bright red gloss that has the perfect hint of juicy color. Like Mow the Glass above, this isn't a gloss that I would wear by itself every day.. but it's great for minimal makeup days, to add an extra layer of color and shine to any other lip product, or just whenever I want a more natural look on my lips. It also has a delicious cherry-vanilla scent!

564A Cherish -- A shimmery pink gloss that is halfway between This Too Shall Glass and Glass Confusion. The pigmentation is nice, but not necessarily buildable. What you see is pretty much what you get. Still, it's a great color though! I like wearing this with a stronger eye, since it is such a soft pink. Cherish has a cherry scent, but it also smells like makeup. If you've ever used any of the Sinful Colors tube lip glosses, it's the exact same smell. Not off-putting, just not as delicious as the other glosses.

577A Red Sensation -- A true ruby red shimmery gloss. If Dorothy's ruby slippers had a matching gloss, it would be this one. But don't get me wrong.. the intensity of the red isn't super bright. I don't do "true" reds at all, and I love the color. This is another great fall or evening color and I can't wait to start wearing it all the time. I think it looks best with a neutral smokey eye. And lastly, it has a great vanilla scent.

576A Rose Gold -- A shimmery pinky-brown gloss that leans slightly more brown. I love wearing this over Maybelline's Color Sensational lipstick in Nearly There. The colors are very similar and Rose Gold adds a very nice shine to the lipstick. This is another great neutral, fall color. I like wearing this when I wear heavier eye makeup to keep my lips looking polished and pulled together, but a little more nude and understated. This also has a vanilla scent.

561A Crystal Clear -- A standard clear gloss. This is the one I've used the least. I used it a couple times to top my pink lip stain and it adds a nice shine. The gloss is unscented and, to me, it smells awful. Although it's a fact that I think almost every unscented product smells awful. Chris said the smell "isn't that bad" but he also said he probably wouldn't use it if he was a girl. It doesn't taste very good if you get it in your mouth, either. But with the smell aside, the formula is great.

The MegaSlicks and MegaBrilliance glosses are great and I'll definitely be buying more of them! I love love LOVE that they are only $1.99! The quality is so fantastic! And the color selection is amazing: 14 MegaSlicks and 3 MegaBrilliance colors to choose from! You could get multiples for your home, purse, and office for the cost of one regularly priced drugstore gloss. While I wasn't so in love with the clear gloss, I feel like the pros definitely outweigh the one gloss that I didn't absolutely love.. so I give these another perfect score!

- - - - - * - - - - -

Aaaaaannnddd.... that's it! I'm finally done reviewing them all! And it's 250 am. So I really need to go to bed. ...I'm going to get right on that. I might post again later for you today.. maybe not. Depends on how motivated I am.

I hope that y'all have enjoyed reading all about Wet N Wild's AWESOME selection of lip glosses that I absolutely love, and that you're inspired to go out and try them for yourself if you haven't already done so!

Have a great day!

REVIEW -- Wet N Wild Lip Gloss Extravangaza! (PART 1)

Hey everyone! Wet N Wild recently sent me tons of lip gloss goodies to review. Seriously, it was like Christmas when I opened the package! I couldn't believe it when I just kept pulling product after product out. Even Chris was impressed! I have to say that they have some the best PR and CS staff ever! I absolutely adore them! Anyways, I've been diligently working my way through all of the products! Today, I'm finally ready to show you swatches and review them. Be warned.. this post will be lengthy even though I'm breaking it up into 2 parts. :)

PS - They actually sent me even MORE products than what I'm showing you, but the other goodies have been put aside for my upcoming 6 MONTH BLOGIVERSARY GIVEAWAY that launches on September 11th.. so stay tuned! ♥

First up, I got 2 of the 4 Juicy Lip Balms: Watermelon and Strawberry. (The other two flavors are Raspberry and Cherry! Yum!) They are a CVS exclusive and retail for $2.99 a piece. These are definitely "jumbo" lip balm tubes and are about the same height of a regular lipstick, but are much wider. You get a LOT of product for the price, but they're still a perfect size to fit in a pocket, clutch or purse!

Based on the name, I expected these balms to be, well.. juicy and sweet-smelling. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they smell like sour candy versions of the fruits! However, the sour smell does not translate into the taste of the balm. Each one just has the "fruit" taste of its flavor.

Application was a dream, but they tend to feel more slick than creamy. Still, they moisturized my lips and even have a bit of color to them! I also love that they have SPF 15.

I absolutely adore these lip balms for everyday, on-the-go use! The Strawberry one has found a permanent home in my purse and the Watermelon one is currently floating between my pool bag and my clutch. As I said, I love the smell of these balms and that they have SPF (which is why I have one in my pool bag!). Personally, I prefer a balm that is a bit more creamy for nighttime so I still use my EOS Smooth Mint before I go to bed, but the Wet N Wild balms are great for daily use! I give them 4.5 out of 5 stars!

From L-R: 611 Baby's Got Bling, 613 10 Carats for Bunny
Next, I got 2 of the 7 Diamond Brilliance Moisturizing Lip Sheens! The other colors include a red/berry, pink, mauve, coral and a clear. These retail for $2.99 wherever Wet N Wild products are sold, and are enriched with Vitamin E to soften and smooth lips. They are comparable to any standard "skinny" tube of lip gloss. I absolutely adore the diamond accent on the top of the tube, so of course I had to include a picture of it! How fun and sparkly is that?!

These glosses have a very smooth application and aren't sticky or goopy at all, nor do they dry out my lips! I can get about 4-6 hours of wear from an application, but I'm also not a gloss-eater. The wear on these is superb, whether you wear them alone or over another lip product. Here's a breakdown of the shades individually:

611 Baby's Got Bling -- A very soft, sheer baby pink iridescent gloss that is great for layering. I love using this on top of lipsticks or other glosses to bring a new depth and dimension to my lips. It's perfect for changing up the look of any lip product! And it has a doe foot applicator.

613 10 Carats for Bunny -- A gorgeous warm pinky-brown with microglitter. I normally don't do browns, but this has enough pink to it to make it flattering on any skin tone. The color is rich, but easily customizable: use a thin layer for a more sheer color, build it up for more intensity. I can't wait to use this during fall! It will be so pretty! This one has a brush applicator.

I am absolutely in love with these glosses! There's not one thing I dislike about them. Well, I take that back. I prefer a doe foot applicator to a brush, but it's not a huge deal and the gloss is so amazing that I don't even care. Wet N Wild truly outdid themselves with the Diamond Brilliance line. The pigmentation is amazing and the quality rivals much more expensive products. I'm going to be honest and admit that I'll be buying the other 5 colors that I don't have. I need to have them! So instead of continuing to rave about how fantastic these glosses are, I'm just going to tell you what you already know: 5 out of 5 stars!

From L-R: 943 Reckless, 948 Fired Up
I also received 2 of the 8 Speed Glosses. The other shades include everything from a sheer red to hot pink and a deep purple-toned berry. These retail for $3.99 and are available wherever Wet N Wild is sold. Speed Glosses are an "energizing lip shine" that contain "energy-boosting ingredients for a fusion of intense color and shine, with a kick!"

Now I can't say that the glosses make me feel more energetic, but I can say that they have a very pleasant minty scent that is noticeable from a distance. The first time I used Reckless, Chris asked me if I was chewing mint flavored gum. These glosses are packed with ingredients like: Ginkgo Biloba, Ginseng, Guarana, Acai, Vitamin E and Peppermint. The combination will make the gloss start to tingle on your lips, so if you're not a fan of that.. you've been warned!

I really like the design of the applicators because they're unique and look cool. However, I find that the product is a little difficult to squirt out. You need to use firm, constant pressure to avoid having it disappear back into the tube. These glosses are both tacky, but not sticky. And they don't dry my lips out, either. I can get about 4 hours of wear out of these before I need to reapply. Finally, let me tell you that I didn't blend out the swatches so that you could see how buildable the color is, especially for Fired Up. Now onto the individual reviews:

943 Reckless -- Reckless is another soft pink/almost clear gloss, and is essentially just densely packed glitter in a clear base. However, I think this one leans more toward being duochrome than iridescent. If you hold the tube in the light, it flashes either pink or gold depending on the angle. This is also another great layering gloss. I've used this over everything from glosses and lipsticks to lip stains and even just a lip liner and it looks amazing every time.

948 Fired Up -- Fired Up ranges from berry to a warm, coppery red depending on how much you build it up. It has a really nice subtle shimmer in it that gives you a lot of shine without having visible flecks of glitter on your lips. If you want to build the intensity of this one, I suggest squeezing the product onto a lip brush and doing it that way because it can get a little out of control with the applicator.

I like the gimmick of the energizing gloss, but I like the peppermint scent and tingle more. Anything that's minty and tingles is A-OK in my book. I'm interested in a couple of other colors from this line, but at $3.99 I wish they had a bit more gloss in them to justify the price. I think the other price points have spoiled me! Still, the quality of the gloss and pigmentation are excellent. I give these 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Well, I hope you've enjoyed reading the first part of Wet N Wild lip gloss reviews! I'll have the second part up tomorrow. Have you tried any of these glosses? Let me know what you think of them!

BEAUTY SPAM SUNDAY -- Makeup Palettes

Hey y'all! Happy Sunday! Is it just me or does it feel like this weekend has just flown by?

Yesterday was Hubby's birthday, so we went to see his mom and then out to dinner with one of our really good friends. After dinner, we all decided to go play Monster Mini-Golf.. We'd never been. It's this indoor mini-golf place with blacklights and campy monsters and a little mini arcade. It was really cheesy but fun! The day was pretty low-key, but Chris enjoyed himself and that's what's most important. :)

But now.. onto the goodies! Makeup palettes won last week's vote 2:1.. and if you know anything about me, you know I love a good palette! Be warned.. this will be picture heavy.

WHEW. Are y'all tired from reading that? I'm certainly tired from writing and posting it. I think this is the longest any entry has ever taken me to put together. Editing those photos took upwards of 2 hours alone! But it was totally worth it, don't you think?!

Don't forget to vote for next week's Beauty Spam and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

TAG -- The Handwriting Tag

Hey y'all! I decided to take a beauty break and bring The Handwriting Tag back! I think this is such a fun and unique tag because handwriting really does tell you so much about a person!

The directions are very simple: just write out your answers on a piece of paper and take a picture of it! Here's mine:

As you can see, my writing is entirely level and I have absolutely no sense of upper and lowercase letters (except for vowels: they're always lowercase). It used to drive my high school teachers insane when they were grading penmanship... haha!

And here is a typed version of the questions that you can just copy and paste:

  1. What is your name and blog name?
  2. Blog URL
  3. Write: The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
  4. Favorite quote?
  5. Favorite song?
  6. Favorite band/singers?
  7. Say anything you want.
  8. Tag other bloggers.

Let me know if you decide to do this.. or if you've already done it! I love seeing people's handwriting!

FRIDAY FAVORITES -- Kim Kardashian's Smokey Eyes

Happy Friday everyone! Sorry this post is going up so late.. I decided to stay in bed much longer than I should have this morning and then Chris and I had some errands to run and we had dinner with my parents for his birthday tomorrow!

So the thing I'm loving this week is Kim Kardashian's smokey eyes. They're definitely one of her trademarks and she always makes them look so effortless and amazing. When I went to check my email this evening and saw a video of Heidi Klum getting a makeover by Kim's makeup artist, I knew what my weekly favorite would be!

Watch as Heidi gets a "Kardashian makeover" and learn how to replicate Kim's signature look:

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

REVIEW -- Wet N Wild 'Walking on Eggshells'

Hey everyone! First.. what do you think of my new blog header? I'm so proud of it.. I made it all by myself! I think it fits so much better than the old one. Plus, I got tired of seeing my face stare back at me every time I loaded my blog, haha! But now, on to the review!

After I received Wet N Wild's Color Icon 6 Pans to review, I knew I needed to get my hands on more of their eye shadows ASAP. Unfortunately, trying to find the multi-pan shadows in my area is a nightmare, but I'd heard rumors that you can snag them at Big Lots. I was about as wary about buying cosmetics at Big Lots as I was buying it from the Dollar Tree.. but I decided to suck it up and try my luck.

Now don't quote me on this, but I believe the Color Icon trios retail for $3. Since I got mine at Big Lots, I paid $2 for mine. Big Lots had 3 or 4 different trios to pick from but Walking on Eggshells was the only one that really caught my eye.

Here are the swatches. As always, no primer or concealer was used.

I am consistently amazed by how smooth and pigmented Wet N Wild's eyeshadows are. Walking on Eggshells is a great neutral palette that can be used for a variety of looks. We woke up late over the weekend and I used my fingers to apply Walking on Eggshells in the car on the way to the fields for Chris' frisbee tournament where we were going to be outside all day. It gave me a very simple and natural look. However, I can also wear this with everyday makeup or apply it over NYX's 'Cottage Cheese' Jumbo Eye Pencil for a more dramatic evening look.

I can honestly say there's not one thing about this palette that I dislike. The quality of the shadow is superb and I love the colors. The price point is great and I plan on going back to Big Lots to pick up a couple of extra trios. Therefore, I'm giving this palette a perfect score!
RATING 5.0 out of 5 STARS
