NAIL ART -- SUPER EASY Patriotic / 4th of July Nails!

Sorry it's a little blurry.. Didn't notice it til I uploaded. :\
Hooray for the 4th of July! It's seriously one of my favorite holidays. I love summer. And a holiday where I can spend all day at the pool, followed by a cookout and fireworks is just like.. the best day ever!

Unfortunately, Chris has to work at night on the 4th this year (he goes in at 10pm) AND he works both Saturday and  Sunday nights.. so we probably won't be catching fireworks at all, which is super lame! But.. it's part of his job and his job pays our bills, so I can't complain... too much.

Anyways.. I wanted to do something clearly patriotic for my nails, but something that was different than your standard "Stars & Stripes" design.. so I decided on a crackle and rhinestone mani!

  • Wet N Wild -- Everybody Loves Redmond
  • China Glaze -- Ruby Pumps
  • Wet N Wild -- Saved by the Blue
  • Pure Ice -- Strapless
  • OPI -- White Shatter
  • Wet N Wild -- Hallucinate
  • LA Colors -- Base Coat / Top Coat
  • Dotting Tool
  • 1 mm Clear Rhinestones
  1. I painted all nails except my thumbs with 1 thin coat of 'Everybody Loves Redmond'.
  2. While that was drying, I painted both thumbs with 1 thin coat of 'Saved by the Blue'.
  3. Once 'Everybody Loves Redmond' was dry, I topped it with 1 thin coat of 'Ruby Pumps'.
  4. Once 'Saved by the Blue' was dry, I topped it with 1 thin coat of 'Strapless'.
  5. I let everything dry for a good 10-15 minutes.
  6. I applied 'White Shatter' over all of my red nails and let that dry.
  7. After about 5 minutes, I applied 2 coats of 'Hallucinate' to all of my red and white nails.
  8. I applied top coat to my thumb and used my dotting tool to place rhinestones in horizontal lines.
    • I did alternating amounts of rhinestones, like the flag.. I did 1 row of 4, 1 row of 3, 1 row of 4 and 1 row of 3.
    • You might have to keep reapplying top coat as you apply the rhinestones because it will dry quickly.
  9. I repeated the rhinestones on my other thumb nail.
  10. I applied top coat to my nails.. and that's it!

See! What did I tell you? SUPER simple and requires no skill whatsoever! And you could eliminate about half of the steps by taking out the glitter polish and doing regular coats of the red and blue WnW polishes.. but.. I just really like glitter. :D

And if you don't have rhinestones, you could totally substitute a silver crackle polish over your thumbs instead!

Honestly, I think this would look better with a white base and red crackle, but I don't have a red crackle.. so I'm making do what what I have instead of running out to buy more polish. Y'all should be so proud of me!

Hoping everyone has a wonderful (and SAFE) holiday weekend!

♥ M
