REVIEW -- It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product

I got a 2 fl oz sample of It's a 10 with a bunch of other goodies from Ulta about a month ago and while I was excited to try it.. I was immediately skeptical of any product with the word "miracle" in its' name and I knew I had to do a review for y'all because the opportunity was too good to pass up. I mean, who doesn't want to test a "miracle" product, right?!

I found It's a 10 available on for $21.99 for a 4 oz bottle and $43.49 for a 10 oz bottle, so it is a little pricier than your normal drugstore products. However, It's a 10 is actually a salon product so that makes me feel a bit better about the price. You might be able to find it cheaper in stores or on Amazon or Ebay.

UPDATE: Ulta stores have It's a 10.. $18 for the 4 oz bottle and $36 for the 10 oz. So I suggest trying various retailers to see if you can find it instore!

Anyways, the bottle I have makes no claims other than the "miracle" on the front of the bottle, and simply instructs you to wash and towel dry your hair before spraying the product and combing it through. So.. I honestly wasn't entirely sure of what to expect from it. I figured it'd be just another leave-in conditioner that I would use up and then be perfectly happy living without.

The first time I used It's a Miracle, I sprayed it directly in my hair and did 5 pumps. I quickly realized that it's more of a spray-able creme than an actual liquid. Since then, I have been spraying 2 sprays of the product into my hands and working it through my hair that way. It saves me a lot of product! Also on that first use, I was blown away by how effectively it de-tangled my hair. It's honestly better than any de-tangling spray I have ever used, including my beloved Suave 'No More Tears'.

The smell is great, too. It has a light, "aqua" scent that isn't overpowering and won't interfere with other hair products.

What I'm most impressed with is how It's a 10 has changed my hair over time. I've used it every time I've washed my hair for the last 6 weeks and I can see a noticeable difference in my hair, which is amazing... especially if you remember my hair disintegration trauma. If not, you can hear all about it in my video:

But for real. My seriously abused and damaged hair is now soft, shiny and manageable again. EVEN my ends! Although, in the interest of full disclosure, I have still been using my Alterna Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil Spray on my ends as well, but I've noticed a quicker improvement in them since I've started using It's a 10. And It's a 10 doesn't make my oily hair greasy like other leave-in products. Plus it has also helped prolong the wear of my hair color.

I couldn't be more pleased with It's a 10 if I tried. There's not one thing about it that I dislike.. or even slightly don't love. And that's a pretty strong reaction from me for something that claims to be a miracle in a bottle! But I just can't find anything bad to say about it! I'm also pleased that it has cut 2 hair products out of my morning routine. After 6 weeks, I have only used about 1/5th of my 2 oz bottle, so even though this sample will last me a long time, I definitely see myself purchasing this when I run out.

If you feel that your hair is damaged enough to need more miracle loving, It's a 10 is also available with Keratin.

  1. Oh I love It's a 10! My friend introduced it to me a year ago and I bought the 4oz bottle and I'm just NOW getting the product below the word "product" on the bottle. It lasts forever! I'm going to buy this again for sure. :D

  2. The 4 oz bottle last you a year. I got a 2 oz one and I wanted to make sure that it lasts. Do you have long hair? Do you follow the right amount for it to last that long?

  3. Okay so I bought the big bottle at Target ($40!) because of my friend's rave reviews. I have thick, fairly course, hair. I've always used Biosilk to get soft, frizz-free hair. So I was excited to try something new. I sprayed this on after shampoo/condition/towel drying. Blow dried my hair, but my hair felt like it had a residue on it and was really rough feeling. I don't understand, did I do something wrong? I'm not ready to give up on it, since everyone else loves it so much. Any tips for me?
